Archive for April, 2008
I highly doubt it but they did ponder the same question I did…whether or not the release of the video game Grand Theft Auto 4 would affect the box office of Iron Man. Check out the link below to see their thoughts on the subject.
On a side note I couldn’t be happier to see the calender page turn…April has been a real trying month and I look forward to May. The one good thing that happened this month is the busiest month to date for the website and also the popularity of our radio show. Those are two promising things to build on.
This is the trailer that debuted at some theaters recently as part of the Dark Knights viral campaign. I must say I can’t wait…Ledger looks amazing as the Joker…such a shame we lost him. Anyhow for your viewing pleasure the bootlegged viral trailer for Dark Knight in theaters July 13th. This is a bootleg courtesy of Trailer addict, enjoy it while you can… Dark Knight.
Well, the closest thing I have ever had to one anyhow. Since I uploaded the second part this afternoon over 700 downloads of the pdf…and so far no one telling me to kill myself I’ll take that as a positive. I will probably upload more parts of the serial quicker since a lot of people keep asking for more. My first love has always been writing and having the forum through this website to have so many of you read my work is very exciting. I will upload a new installment by the end of the week, thanks again for reading.
This week kicks off the summer movie season, wow I can’t believe it’s that time again. Iron Man is the big movie kicking off the season and I for one can’t wait to see it. I was a huge fan of the comic growing up and I think Robert Downey is going to be incredible in the role. There is one interesting question I’ve been thinking about…will the release of Grand Theft Auto IV have an effect on Iron Man’s box office, they are both battling for the same demographic and I wonder if the release of the highly popular game which is estimated to gross over 400 million in sales will put a dent into Iron Man’s box office. I will be interested to see how Iron Man does, it is currently tracking from anywhere between 70-100 million for it’s opening weekend, if that holds this could be a very profitable weekend in the entertainment industry.
That’s right, part 2 of Loyalty to those Departed is uploaded. Click here to read the second part! I hope you enjoy it. A lot of you did but some of you didn’t, which is fine, I hope the second part will change your mind. Sorry to my anonymous e-mailer who requested the next thing I write be my suicide note…still think that’s hysterical by the way. Not a lot to say right now, working hard to work out the bugs for our podcast and preparing for a meeting with the ACRC about the future of Sorrow Hill. I hope you enjoy the second part of Loyalty to those Departed and if you do tell a friend. Thanks.
Wow, I just looked over the user statistics for last nights show and it was our busiest night yet…thanks to everyone who stayed up and listened and for those who missed it you can listen to the show on www.grindhouse-radio.com any time you like. I got home after the show last night and saw that Campfire Tales is no longer available on demand, sorry, here’s a link if you’d like to purchase it…it truly is one of the more under-rated horror movies check it out:
Now I don’t get a dime in kick back so don’t think this is another shameless attempt to make money for Sorrow Hill.
I am so rejuvenated after a week of self-pity and I don’t care what I have to do this movie is going to be made and it’s going to be great! I have so many fresh ideas to raise the money needed, and I know we can do it. Keep reading the blogs and listening to the shows…our traffic is through the roof…thanks so much!
Wow, the weeks are flying ‘by! Tonights show is going to be a great. It’s hater night!
That’s right I’m giving all of you anonymous e-mailers the opportunity to tell me live on the air exactly how and why I suck…since you have no problem e-mailing me you should have the ability to call in…the show is on at midnight on www.grindhouse-radio.com and the number is 856-696-0092 I will give you all the time you need. Just like every other week there will be a live chat as well on the site.
Also Big Rick just called me and said he is debuting a new bit on his show that airs at 11pm which can also be heard on Grindhouse Radio. He promises big laughs especially for the cast of Sorrow Hill…I can’t wait.
Tonight’s show will be jampacked beginning at 11pm so tune in and enjoy. And if you miss it you can always download the replay.
Check out the latest online venture from Grindhouse Pictures. An online serial called Loyalty to those Departed. There will be a new part posted each week so I hope you enjoy the story. Also our first podcast should be up later this week.
I watched a really bloody horror movie this weekend. It was called Inside and it was a crazy, gorefest of a good time. The pacing was intense, just when you thought you could catch your breathe this movie would punch you right in the gut. Now the premise was a little flimsy but I can get over it because this movie was just so intense. The main character went through hell trying to protect her unborn baby from a psychopathic woman hellbent on killing her and taking her baby. There was some really good kills but the the one that stands out to me involved a pair of scissors and poor old man…damn. There were some flimsy cgi effects with one of the kills but it was still WOW worthy when the cops head was blown apart. I highly recommend this movie to all you horror fans.
This movie will be discussed in detail either on the podcast or on my Friday night show. So get a chance and watch it…don’t get from Blockbuster they took it upon themselves to edit the movie and it really hurt the final product so do yourself a favor and find the unrated version. What gives Blockbuster the right to edit someones movie because they don’t agree with it’s content, so not only do with have the MPAA to deal with but now we have the yahoo’s at blockbuster deciding what we can handle as a viewer. That’s why I say power to Netflix. I will never rent from Blockbuster again because this isn’t the first time they’ve taken it upon themselves to edit a movie and it won’t be the last. So if you find a mom and pop video store support them or as I said earlier…Netflix!
Thanks to everyone that visits this site. Because of you Grindhouse Pictures.com has already experienced it’s busiest month of traffic…and it’s only the 20th! So thank you for checking the site regularly and be sure to turn your friends on to the site. Between the podcasts and the weekly serial debuting this week there will be lots of new content added regularly to the site. Once again Thank You!
For the first time in my adult working life I will wake up on Monday morning without a job to go to…feels very weird. It’s been a very surreal month up to this point, I can’t wait for April to be over. I’m a glass is half full type of guy but man, this month has really got my twisted. OK, enough of the self-pity party…this week is going to be great, we will be building sets all week getting ready for our shoot. Not having a job will free me up to devote a lot more time to the movie…but only for a couple of weeks I can’t go long without a job…I think I’d go crazy.
Not really but my office is. Friday night I was preparing for my radio show when I heard a fluttering noise. I just thought it was something outside and continued working. A couple of moments later a bat goes swooping by right in front of my face. Man did I jump. Then his buddy came swooping down I was beginning to feel like the girl in Suspiria. I scurried for the door and opened it in hopes they would fly out on their own but I was dead wrong. So I grabbed a broom and began swinging at the bats trying to knock them through the door or at the very least guide them out into the night. I wish I had video of this, I must have looked ridiculous. I was finally able to rid my office of the winged vermin with some help from my trusty broom…craziness. The show from Friday night is posted on www.grindhouse-radio.com so if you didn’t hear it Friday night you can listen to it at your leisure. Looking at the analysis of the hits to my sites I see a lot of you have chosen to do this and I thank you. The show is really starting to take shape and I am working to line up some great guests so keep tuning in. We will be launching our first podcast this week. The first couple will be taped, we are currently working on a way to do them live so you can call in. I am very busy trying to spread the word of Grindhouse Pictures, Sorrow Hill and Grindhouse Radio the hits on the site show that we are starting to get some attention but we need more…so tell a friend about us.
This week I will be posting the first part of a story I am working on exclusively for the web site. It is going to be posted in serial format with a new part debuting each week. Not sure how many parts it will end up being but I hope you enjoy it and keep coming back to see what happens. I am doing this to showcase my writing abilities in an effort to attract even more people to our many ventures at Grindhouse Pictures and hopefully garner more investors.
Speaking of, I’d like to thank everyone who has utilized the paypal buttons. Every dollar helps make Sorrow Hill a reality so from everyone here at Grindhouse Pictures thank-you and tell everyone you know, that way everyone can share in the fun and get their names in the credits.
The past couple of weeks have been rough but we are sticking together and we are going to get this thing done. There isn’t a doubt in my mind.
